Recent Projects
2020
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Leverage’s HR Consulting team has provided strategic advice, planning, document preparation, and hands-on support related to several European and UK companies’ downsizing efforts in Japan. All of our client companies significantly downsized their Japan operations and we also helped exit 2 Japanese Representative Directors. Most of the activity was done virtually, as travel restrictions exist.
2019
Leverage’s HR Consulting team provided strategic advice, mediation service and hands-on support to a European Industrial Goods & Services Company that restructured their Japanese operations. The client closed several sales and service offices throughout Japan and restructured their Tokyo office as well. Leverage provided initial strategic planning, communications training, document preparation, mediation service between affected employees and the client company, and ongoing general support to all people related matters.
Leverage’s HR team provided strategic advice to a newly created JV between a major Japanese Airline and a Canadian Aerospace Training Company. It was a 3 month project during which we created an entirely new and comprehensive HR system for the newly created JV (rules of employment, compensation & benefits system, appraisal system, union relations, and strategic HR communications). There were many shareholders involved in the project and the outcome was successful.
